A native of Morocco, Chef Hassan Obaye gained a passion for cooking at age 14 as he watched and learned from his mother. Fast forward to adulthood when Chef Hassan’s impressive career began as an apprentice learning the fundamentals of traditional cuisine in France. He later attended the highly regarded Ecole De Cuisine Francaise Southwest of France and then discovered creative cuisine while working for acclaimed Michelin star-rated restaurant in the Bordeaux region of France. Chef Hassan returned to the Tangiers in his homeland to open a French-inspired Moroccan restaurant before joining the Disney Culinary Program which brought him to the United States. After moving to Houston, Chef Hassan worked at several notable restaurants and hotels and prior to La Table, was most recently associated with the Four Seasons culinary team. Chef Hassan describes his style as, “classic in fundamentals, but fun on the plate” featuring regionally sourced ingredients.
