Executive Chef Kourtenie Tyson, from Northern Louisiana, moved to Texas as a teenager. As a child he watched his Grandmothers cook traditional Southern cuisine and from that formed a lot of his cooking styles through this cuisine with a twist.
Kourtenie started his culinary journey as a fry cook for a local fast food restaurant over 20 years ago and hasn’t looked back. Working for Star Fleet Yacht in Kemah, TX, he was also Executive Chef at the Nassau Bay Hilton, in Nassau Bay, TX. He is now Executive Chef at Sugar Land Marriott since 2012.
Kourtenie has worked for Remington Hotels Corp. for 21 years becoming one of the well-respected Chefs in this growing company.
